North Mongolia’s Reindeer Herders
Visiting the Tsaatan (Dukha) tribe in northern Mongolia is a rare and unforgettable experience — a journey into one of the most remote and mystical regions on Earth. Hidden deep in the forested taiga near the Russian border, the Tsaatan are among the last reindeer herders in the world. Their lives revolve around their reindeer, which provide transport, food, clothing, and a deep spiritual bond with nature. Reaching their camp means crossing rugged mountains and pristine forests, where time seems to stand still. Visitors are welcomed into traditional reindeer-hide teepees and invited to share daily life — milking reindeer, preparing meals over open fires, and learning about ancient Shamanic traditions. It’s not just an adventure, but a rare glimpse into a vanishing way of life that has endured for centuries in Mongolia’s wild north.

Tour Highlights:

  • Meet the Last Reindeer Herders: Discover the rare lifestyle of Mongolia’s Tsaatan people.

  • Cultural Immersion: Stay in traditional teepees and share daily life with the herders.
