The next half of the tour takes you to the crystal clear Lake Huvsgul at the beautiful Horidol Saridag mountains, picturesque Khorgo-Terkh National Park and the ancient capital at Kharkhorin. Welcome to Mongolia! Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Begin your adventure with a visit to Sukhbaatar Square, the heart of the city, and the National Museum of Mongolia, where you’ll explore the country’s rich history and culture.
In the evening, enjoy a captivating traditional Mongolian concert showcasing folk music, throat singing, and contortion. Overnight at a hotel*** in Ulaanbaatar.

The monastery was once the largest monastery in South Mongolia and was used by about 500 monks. It was the only monastery out of nine in the immediate vicinity to survive the Stalinist purges - by becoming a warehouse and shop. The monastery was reopened in 1990 and the current Dalai Lama visited in 1992. Stay in ger camp. (About 300kms- about 7hours driving)

We will drive to Orkhon valley, registered as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2005, this Orkhon River valley is known as the cradle of the Mongolian civilization holding many of Mongolia’s ancient monuments lie within its basin. And there is Orkhon Waterfall that marks the halfway point of the Orkhon River, Mongolia’s longest river that runs about 1120kms to the north before it joins the mighty Selenge River. The waterfall, also called Ulaan Tsutgalan was formed by a series of volcanic eruptions about 20.000 years ago. It cascades from the height of 22 metres and is 10m wide. Stay in ger camp. Distance: ~300 km (~7 hours driving).

Travel beside the Chuluut River which has carved a deep canyon into the basalt rocks. This canyon is famous for its rich fishing grounds. Arrive Khorgo Volcano that is an extinct volcano, covered with basalt and lays to the east of Lake Terkhiin.
